Goal: to make sails deep....

Rig tension off

Ease jib halyard

Jib leads forward

Ease outhaul

Ease cunningham

Bring traveler up

Ease mainsheet

Vang off

Batten tension increased to add draft

Weight near centerline and slightly forward

Minimize crew movement

Keep in mind when the rig tension is off and mainsheet is pulled the forestay is tightened. Use the spinnaker halyard run to the bow hand tight to keep the forestay light. In otherwords the mainsheet and vang are working as the backstay. Adjustments to the mainsheet also change the jib.

Don't pinch..In light winds the boat carries zero momentum and pinching or even hitting waves will stop it dead. Keep those telltales flowing aft. Boat speed rules. Keep the boat moving.

In extremely light (less than 2 knots) air flatter sails shapes are needed, as the wind will not have the strength to remain attached to a deep shape.
