The Evinrude or Johnson 4 long shaft barely is long enough to submerge the prop. So any wave causing the boat to pitch will allow the prop to come out of the water.

The Nissan 5 Long Shaft does not suffer from this problem and also offers a reverse gear. Switching to a 7" pitch prop propels the A27 at 7.5 knots with a crew of five.
Insulating the motor cover will quiet it down and putting Treadmaster pads on the motor mount will isolate vibration.
