We noticed when we first put the mount and motor (an Evinrude 4 long shaft) that it was set at an odd angle... like it was rocked back. We were able to motor, but most of our weight had to be in the back of the boat to keep the prop in the water. It also made for hell through big waves.
Anyway... a friend who races with us brought the motor and mount to a machinist who recut the mount making it so the motor would mount plumb in the water and could be adjusted as needed from that position. The fix works great, and if anyone is interested,I could send them pix of it.
