Hello all, The photo in the previous message is highly inacurate- The boat (mine) had been launched for the first time, and was completely empty. She floats a little differently know! ;-) As for the Johnson vs. anything else, it is a 20" long shaft, which is probably the same as all of the other engines in question. Only in very steep, close waves (read: ferry boat wakes) when they are taken at the wrong angle do we experience any problems with the prop coming close to the surface. As for vibration and noise, not much of a problem with the Johnson 4, as it is a two cylinder.
